Q. What courses do you offer?
A. At Raphael’s Northeast Ohio campuses, you can enroll in Managing Cosmetology, Managing Esthetician, and Managing Nail Technician. We also have the Youngstown area’s only Barber Academy in Niles, Ohio and the area’s only Massage Therapy school in Boardman, Ohio.
Q. Do I need a high school diploma?
A. A high school diploma or GED is required to enroll in the Massage Therapy and Barber courses. You can enroll in the Managing Cosmetology, Managing Esthetician or Managing Nail Tech course with a high school diploma, GED, or you can enroll when you take a Basic Skills test and pass it in the 11th grade level or higher. An independent testing company administers this test once a month at our Niles campus.
Q. Can I get financial aid?
A. Financial Aid is available, for those who qualify, for the Managing Cosmetology, Managing Esthetician, Barber and Massage Therapy courses. Expert School Owner Ralph Delserone and his staff can walk you through the steps for applying for financial aid. The types of financial aid we offer are Federal Pell Grants and Direct Student Loans. The amount of financial aid awarded to each student is dependent on the student’s eligibility and the course the student is enrolled in.
Q. What schedules do you offer?
A. Raphael’s School of Beauty Culture, Inc. has Northeast Ohio covered with the best flexible schedules offered. The schedule for the Barber course is full-time at 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, while the schedule for the Massage Therapy course is part-time at 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturdays. You can attend full- or part-time for the Beauty School courses. Schedules include 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday through Friday; 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday; 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday; and 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. The Niles campus also offers evening classes at 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday. All schedules for the Beauty School require 16 Saturday hours of attendance each month.
